Oak honey consists of one of the three categories of honey and honeydew produced in Greece. We collect it in June and July from the oak forests, which are located in the wider area of Agia Theodora, Arcadia. The honey produced from the oak is dark, almost black, thick, with a special aroma and intense characteristic taste.
It is a rich in trace minerals type of honey and is considered one of the most nutritious.
After a research (conducted) by AUTh. found to be the honey with the greatest antioxidant activity compared to the rest.
It has a slow rate of crystallization, about one and a half to two years.
